What the mascot does at the party
A mascot doesn't talk: the actor is hidden completely inside the costume, so it cheers, dances and hugs without words. Inside, the actor sees less around them, so the mascot moves slowly and leans down to the children rather than running among them.
-
The welcome
The mascot waits for the children at the door and greets each one with a hug. At a christening or a big party, it stays by the entrance while the guests arrive.
-
The surprise
The teddy bear turns up unexpectedly at cake time or with a present, and the birthday child can't believe their eyes. We agree with you beforehand exactly when it comes in, so the surprise isn't missed.
-
The dance
The mascot dances to the children's favourite music and shows the moves. Little ones clap and copy the bear.
-
The photos
Every child has a photo with the mascot, and the parents keep the memory of the day. Next to little ones the mascot kneels down so they both fit in the picture.

The giant teddy bear and other mascots
The most requested is the giant plush teddy bear: as tall as an adult, soft and warm, it makes the little ones laugh and the older ones want to hug it. We have other mascots besides, and when you book we tell you which are free on the day of the party. At a birthday with lots of guests a mascot can be seen from every corner of the room, and the adults want a photo with it too.
A mascot works best alongside an animator: it brings the surprise and the photos, and the animator runs the games. For 1-3-year-olds, though, a mascot and a short programme with an animator can be the whole party. At a christening party, the mascot welcomes guests at the restaurant entrance.
Frequently asked questions
What is a party mascot?
A mascot is a big plush costume covering the actor's whole body, such as a giant teddy bear; some people call it a giant puppet. It doesn't talk; it dances, waves and poses for photos with the children. For parties, a mascot is hired for one appearance, usually alongside an animator.
Will little children be scared of the mascot?
Some 1-2-year-olds are scared at first, so the mascot approaches slowly and gives them time. After a few minutes most of them hug it. At the first meeting it helps if the little one is in mum's arms.
Can the mascot come without an animator?
Yes, for a welcome or a short surprise. For a whole party, book an animator too, who runs the games and talks to the children.
Want a surprise with the bear?
Send us the date and time, and we'll tell you which mascots are free. A mascot can be added to any programme of our party animators.
